Wistful-(adjective) marked by pensive longing

My Sentence- I have no idea how to use the word wistful in a sentence of my own.

Context Clue- Not quite sure which context clue was used for this word.
Resignation- (noun) formal statement, document, etc., stating that one gives up an office, position, etc.

My Sentence- the President of the United States put in for a resignation of his position.

Context Clue- Your logic because I have heard this word before and I used what I already knew to apply it to this word.
 Zeal- (noun) intense ardor or eagerness
